Borough President Adams toured New York University (NYU) Tandon School
of Engineering’s new cleanroom in Downtown Brooklyn; he allotted $1 million
to this first-in-the-borough facility that will be used to fabricate advanced devices
and materials on the micro- and nano-scale.

Borough President Adams shared a special moment with students at the
Strivright Auditory Oral School of New York in Flatlands, a facility that helps
children with hearing impairments to succeed academically and socially.

In response to a “Punish a Muslim Day” flyer circulated in the United Kingdom
calling on the public to attack Muslims indiscriminately, Borough President
Adams joined State Senator Diane Savino, Assembly Member Felix Ortiz,
Council Member Justin Brannan, and interfaith leaders at the Islamic Society
of Bay Ridge, where he spoke to the congregation about the need to stay vigilant
against intolerance and violence.

Borough President Adams shared his love of literature with Brooklyn Community
Services at the launch of their “Read by Example” week, in which he read
Addie Boswell’s “The Rain Stomper” to an excited classroom of four-year-old
children at Duffield Children’s Center in Downtown Brooklyn.

Borough President Adams spent a night with homeless neighbors in CAMBA’s
Respite Bed Program’s site at Congregation Beth Elohim in Park Slope, connecting
with them about their experiences.

café in Clinton Hill that is one of several dozen Black-owned coffee shops in
Brooklyn, while chatting with Emily (left) and Elizabeth (right) Hazlewood, two
sisters who opened the small business in 2010.
