T he conclusion of summer is always a downer for students gearing
up for the fall semester. The season comes and goes in the blink
of an eye and it’s back to the stressful grind of another semester.
Sure, most students look forward to taking classes and inching
closer to their future careers. But you still need a break every now
and then and fun shouldn’t end with summer.
Since you probably won’t have the time to go on a long vacation, here are
some ideas for one last hurrah or just a quick two-day trip to get away from
schoolwork.

Hershey Park
Hershey, Pennsylvania
This is a drive of around three and a half hours without traffic from Manhattan, but it offers a great
getaway from the noise of the city. Sporting a top notch amusement park with some of the best roller
coasters in the northeast, Hershey Park is open during the weekends in the fall along with tons of holiday
promotions for Halloween and Christmas.
Fans of old rides can also visit the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, which includes an
impressive collection of vintage cars and vehicles of all kind.
If you’re looking to relax and take a break from eating tons of chocolate, Hershey Gardens offers 23
acres of breathtaking views and offers activities for the kids during Halloween and a Butterfly Atrium. If
nature is your thing, head here.
Finally, a trip to Hershey wouldn’t be complete without Hershey’s Chocolate World. Bring your sweet
tooth and a desire to learn about what makes these chocolate treats so delicious. It may be viewed as a
family destination, but it’s an activity anyone that loves sweet treats can enjoy.
