NCC STUDENTS ATTEND CLASS AT NY ISLANDERS ICEWORKS On Thursday, March 3, over 100 sports marketing students from Nassau Community College shared a unique venue for a learning experience. Vinny Messina, an NCC graduate and the hockey director at Iceworks in Syosset invited Professor Jack Mandel of the school’s Marketing Department to visit the sports facility. “Guest Professor” Messina led 28 AQNS.COM SPRING 2016 a discussion on how the move to Barclays Center in Brooklyn had affected the Long Island fan base. He also focused on the exciting career opportunities in the sports market. Mandel stated, “While reading a textbook can provide basic sports theory and foundation, an on-site visitation always adds an exciting and memorable learning experience and Coach Messina gets an “A” grade from all of us for a job well done.” Rent It. Rock It. Return It Welcome to Ch arlotte’s Closet With endless social events on the calendars of students these days, finding the perfect dress for each event can get stressful and expensive…until now. Introducing Charlotte’s Closet (www.charlottescloset. com), a web-based company that allows young fashionistas to borrow party pieces for every special occasion (think sorority formal, date night, graduation. party guest and prom) at up to 75% off retail! Charlotte’s Closet carries the newest styles from top designers including Blush, Faviana, French Connection, Nicole Miller, BCBGeneration, Jill Jill Stuart plus more with new pieces arriving weekly. Charlotte’s Closet offers an alternative to the consumer culture where young women grow up with an overstuffed closet of dresses they only wear once and allows them to rock their most important occasions in a new look without breaking the bank. How Charlotte’s Closet works: browse their website to find styles you like, select your event date and enter sizes (one size is free to ensure the perfect fit), receive the dress by mail, wear it and return it with the pre-paid UPS label. A small insurance fee covers normal wear. Many designer dresses can be borrowed for about $50 (but retail for $200 and way up). Want to try on your look before your event? Clients can book a private fitting at their Port Washington showroom and reserve their piece up to five months in advance. The company also launched a home try-on service, where for a small fee designer dresses get delivered right to your doorstep to try on before the big day. To book a private fitting or schedule a home try-on service contact reservations@ charlottes-closet.com or call 516-570-0200.
