A NEW COMFORTER &
SHEETS
While some, more money-savvy college students may
opt to take any old bedding from home, starting fresh for a
fresh start is always a good idea. Take a minute to browse
the Internet or some catalogues for a new bedspread that
really screams you, one that you’ll feel good crashing on at
the end of the day.
TOWELS
Although something you don’t think you’d forget, towels
usually fall toward the bottom of the list of necessary
items. Make sure to have plenty with you, as they are
definitely something you don’t want to be sharing with
your roommate.
SHOWER CADDY
A shower caddy is a great item to have, especially if
your hall is equipped with communal bathrooms. It helps
you keep all of your shower needs organized and is super
convenient and easy to store.
STORAGE BINS
While cramming is something you’re sure to be doing
when finals role around, cramming clothes into your dorm
room’s tiny closet or drawers is something that should be
avoided.
Invest in some different sized bins, – maybe a few large
ones for under your bed and one small one for your closet.
They are a great space-saving tool to have in any dorm
room.
QUICK-FIX FOODS
If you’re running late to class or don’t have enough time
to make it to the dining hall for lunch, some easy foods to
keep in your dorm room are always a good idea. Things like
microwavable macaroni and cheese, cereal, trail mix and
canned soup, can help get you through those in-between-class
cravings.
ITEMS
FROM HOME
While you might be too
busy to miss home, after
the excitement of your
first few weeks wears
off, you’ll want some
items with you that will
make you feel better
about being away from
family and friends. Take
some framed photos with
you, maybe some of your
favorite books, anything
that is personal to you and
that you’ll feel good-looking
at in your
dorm room.

New place, new people,
new bedding?
From orientation
packets to meal plan
options, your First
few weeks of college
can prove to be a little
bit hectic. In the midst
of all the madness,
it helps to have a
place to come back
to, a place – stocked
with everything you
need – where you
can relax between
picking up textbooks
and attempting to
memorize your
schedule.
