SAVOR THE SUMMER
With summer just around the corner, most students are putting
the finishing touches on their term papers, or cramming for finals, as
they eagerly anticipate closing the book on another semester.
Need some help staying focused? Check out our article on study
hacks that really work.
Want a break? We’ve got you covered. If you’re too lazy to leave
the couch, check out our article on Vintage Views for some ideas on
what to watch when you’re in the mood to binge.
And, when you’ve finished watching, join the debate. Our
columnist explores the thorny question of which is better – the
book or the movie? The experience is never the same, for sure, but
there’s no easy answer to the query – sometimes the book is better,
sometimes the movie leaves the original book in the dust, and
sometimes, it’s really hard to decide.
If you’re as big a fan of superhero films as we are, you’ll want to
dive right into our retrospective of the Spiderman movies, which
helped reinvent the genre for the 21st century.
And, speaking of heroes, if you find yours on the baseball
diamond, check out our feature on Mets great Mike Piazza, seen
through the eyes of one of the team’s most loyal fans, who has made
a name for himself blogging about the team, through all its ups and
downs.
It’s a great beach read and, admit it, that’s exactly where you want
to be once the semester’s in the bag.
But, when you’re ready to face the fall – be it as a prospective
college student or a first-time job-seeker – we have advice as well.
Check out our article on making the most of your summertime college
tours, as well as our advice column on how to ace the interview and
put yourself in contention for the job you really want.
It may seem like summer’s just beginning, but, trust me, it will be
over before you know it.
So, enjoy every minute. Rest, recuperate and reinvigorate yourself
for the challenges ahead. You’ll be glad you did.
