Make time for
sleep.
We know, we know. We sound like your
parents, but hear us out here. Sleep is,
by far, the most important thing you can
make time for every semester (despite
what everyone says about studying).
Sleep is the domino that, if knocked
over, has a ripple eff ect on everything
else in your life. Allotting for at least
seven hours of sleep a night (we know,
this one sounds like a doozy) will make
you happier, boost your immune system
and giving your overall mental health a
shot at being at the top of its game.
Make (and break up) homework time.
It’s important to make time for homework and
it’s important to get stuff done – but sometimes,
it’s better to break it up into manageable
segments. Allot more than one hour per day, more
than one day per week to school work. That way,
you’re not barreling through for hours at a time in
the library, and your brain has less of a chance to
be fried on both ends.
The more time you allocate per week for
schoolwork (and we’re talking smaller portions,
because, sometimes less is more), the less
stressed you will feel and – surprisingly enough –
the more work you will get done.
Write everything
down.
Write. Write. Write. And try your best
to keep an actual planner – not just a few
scribbled notes on a few pieces of paper.
Try to keep everything – appointments,
assignments, planned nights out with your
roommate – organized in one, cohesive place.
The more organized you keep yourself, the
more organized you are likely to become.
