Four series
to stream
this semester
that aren’t
“Stranger
Things”
BY MEAGHAN MCGOLDRICK We know that, by now, you’ve more than likely taken a trip
to the Upside Down and binged the entirety of “Stranger
Things” season two (if not – what are you waiting for!?). That
said, it’s a new semester, which means you’re more than
likely looking for something just as new to binge-watch on
weekends and rainy days.
Here are some of our picks to help fill the void left by bat-swinging Steve
Harrison and the end of another season of “Stranger Things.”
“The Good Place”
(Netflix, Hulu)
Season one of this (hilariously underrated)
Kristen Bell comedy is available to stream on
Netflix. For those who subscribe to both Netflix and
Hulu, season two is happening live and available
to watch on the latter.
The quick, half-hour comedy stars Bell as
Eleanor Shellstrop – an ordinary woman who
enters the afterlife and, thanks to some kind of
error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad
Place (which is where she most definitely belongs)
and Ted Danson as Michael, the wise architect of
the Good Place (and Shellstrop’s sort-of keeper).
The comedy is fast and funny, and sure to keep you
hooked.
