“I’m also really into using alcohol bottles as vases at the moment,” Rabkin said. “The one on the table is an old Petron bottle.” “Which is great, because then we just drink more,” Kaiser added, “What? I’m just helping Lindsay decorate!” While a lot of the kitchen’s charm comes from repurposed boxes and bottles, the couple has to get one bright collection ready made: “I’m collecting Le Creuset kitchenware, but that can get expensive,” Lindsay told me. “One collection for the registry I think!” Attention to detail is clearly something that both Rabkin and Kaiser enjoy, and I couldn’t help but notice that Rabkin was sporting a very unusual engagement ring. “We designed the ring together,” Kaiser told me. “Lindsay wanted to keep adding stones to it, but we had to cut her off eventually!” “The diamond is my Mom’s,” Rabkin added. 48 JANUARY 2 0 1 7 I asked about the proposal and Kaiser answered with, “Well, we got Indian food and we were laying in bed—” “Bloated,” Rabkin interjected. “Ha, yep, and it just seemed right,” Kaiser continued, smiling. As I was about to leave, I noticed a book on their coffee table. “Ah, the Nashville book is there because we are having a joint bachelor/bachelorette there,” Rabkin explained. “It should be a good time!” I wonder what these two will pick up from that adventure? A new collection to take them into their marriage, perhaps? The best is yet to come. INTERIOR DESIGN
