Next month, she will be demonstrating how to make her chocolate fashionistas at the New York Cake Show on Pier 36 on June 11 at 5 p.m. While she has led workshops on decorating other types of chocolate, this will be the first time she shares her secrets on how to make a fashionista. But while her fashionistas gain recognition all over the city and beyond, Etstein’s home base of Astoria is the best place for her to develop her art: “I’m in love with Astoria,” Etstein said. “I love, love, love everything about this neighborhood. We have a great community here, great friends. A lot of the community here is very supportive. There are artistic people, intelligent people, a young vibe, and it’s fun.
