Welcome to the drinks issue of BORO! Western Queens is filled with so many fun, thriving bars and restaurants, so this month, we’re highlighting some newcomers to the neighborhood — as well as some old favorites. No matter what your drink of choice is, there’s a new bar for you: Vintage wine bar, Off The Hook’s rum bar and the ICONYC brewery tap room have all opened recently (page 18). Astoria’s new barbecue restaurant Salt & Bone has a wonderful selection of cocktails in addition to their delicious food offerings (page 38). And East Coast Foodies has stocked their shelves with sodas and juices in flavors you won’t normally find — all from local businesses up and down the East Coast (page 34). If you’re a sports bar fan, you might already be KATRINA MEDOFF editor-in-chief familiar with The Brewery Bar and Kitchen, which has made community their priority (page 32). And you can spot lots of other local favorites in your fellow readers’ Instagram posts from bars, beer gardens, speakeasies, restaurants and more (page 10).
