A new Bay Ridge pet shop is hoping
to make some “fur-ever”
customers.
Wagging Tails, 9508 Fourth Avenue,
celebrated its grand opening
last month, fresh off its soft opening
in early February. The store – its
outside signage as bright and vibrant
as its variety of products inside – offers
everything from pet supplies to
grooming and even boarding.
“We have a little bit of everything,”
said owner Laura Generoso, a Bay
Ridge native. “We have a whole range
of products for cats, dogs, reptiles, fi sh;
we carry some small animals; we do
grooming and even some boarding.”
The shop may only carry small animals
(inside the shop are a plethora
of fi sh, birds and other handheld creatures),
but that doesn’t stop it from being
a one-stop shop for just about any
pet owner. “We have everything any
animal might need,” said Generoso.
This isn’t Generoso’s fi rst rodeo,
either.
“I’ve been in the business for many
years, so I’m excited to get back to
where it all started for me,” she said,
referencing her alma mater, St. Patrick’s
Catholic Academy, across the
street. “I’m a real animal lover so what
I do is really important to me.”
Generoso isn’t the only one with
experience at Wagging Tails. The
shop’s groomer, she said, has been doing
his thing for more than six years.
“Usually, when animals come in to
be groomed, they just want to get out
of here – but not with him,” she said.
“They love him.”
For her, the store’s success, she said,
lies in its response from its clientele.
“Animals always know,” Generoso
said.
Wagging Tails is open seven days
a week. Store hours are 9:30 a.m. to 8
p.m. Monday through Saturday and
11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. For more
information, stop by or call the store
at 718-238-7904.
