Once again, Brooklyn will
pull out all the stops for
Halloween fun.
Leading off the list of haunted
happenings is the annual Fall Harvest
Festival hosted by Narrows
Botanical Gardens, Shore Road and
71st Street, on Sunday, October 8 featuring
a craft fair, a pumpkin patch
and the favorite Great Canine Costume
Contest. Country music will
be performed by Don Coy & the Al ‘e’
Mo Square Dancers. For more info,

Our Life Inc. will be hosting
its 2017 Autumn Festival, also
on Sunday October 8 at Kelly
Park, Avenue S and East 14th
Street, from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. The
event features a free kids' hay
maze, face painting, games and

On Saturday, October 14, Luna
Park, 1000 Surf Avenue, brings
back its Halloween Harvest Dog
Parade & Costume Contest. Each
dog must be registered to enter
Luna Park.
In addition, Luna Park will
entice visitors with its Halloween
Harvest, each weekend until
Sunday, October 29. Highlights
include face painting, pony rides,
arts and crafts, music, a pumpkin
patch and more, including the
Fifth Annual Marc and the Maniac
Pumpkin Carvers event on

On Saturday, October 21
State Senator Marty Golden
will present Marine Park’s
32nd Halloween Fall Festival at
Lenape Park, East 36th Street and
Avenue U, from 12-3 p.m. with a
pumpkin patch, treats, a puppet
show presented by NYC Parks
Puppetworks, and more. Attendees
are encouraged to wear
costumes with prizes for the best

Councilmember Mark Treyger
will host the Fall Festival
at Kaiser Park, 2529 Neptune
Avenue, on Saturday, October 21
from 12-3 p.m. The free event will
include pumpkin picking, painting,
games and more. Kids are

On Saturday, October 28, the
Prospect Park Alliance will put
on its free Halloween Haunted
Walk and Fair from 12-3 p.m.
Attendees will encounter
zombies, werewolves, witches
and other Halloween spirits on
a haunted walk on Lookout Hill
and enjoy a festive Halloween
Fair on the Nethermead. In addition,
both the Lefferts Historic
House and the Prospect Park Carousel
will celebrate the season.

back Ghouls & Gourds: Halloween
Festival on Saturday, October
28 from 12-5:30 p.m. featuring
music performances and a variety
of kid-oriented activities.

The 13th Annual Halloween
Carnival will be held at the First
Street Recreation Center of P.S.

performances, free giveaways

Alliance will host its annual
Halloween Fun Fest on Sunday,

Those who want to celebrate
the thrills on the actual day are
also in luck.
On Tuesday, October 31, the
annual Park Slope Civic Council
Halloween Parade will take place
starting at 6:30 p.m. at Seventh
Avenue and 14th Street and concluding
at the Old Stone House.
The annual festivities, which
started in 1986, typically attract
attendees from all over the five

Finally, also on Tuesday October
31, Golden will also host the
23st Annual Haunted Halloween
Walk and Fairy Tale Forest at Owl’s
Head Park, Colonial Road and 67th
Street, from 3-9 p.m.. The event will
include a pumpkin patch, rides,
costumed characters, kids’ activities,
arts and crafts, and a costume

BUSTER KEATON
CELEBRATION
Head over to the Brooklyn Public Library to
celebrate Buster Keaton’s birthday on October
4, with “Sherlock Jr.,” a classic feature in which
Keaton plays a movie-theatre projectionist and
an amateur detective who is framed for theft
and loses the woman he loves,
His short comedies “Coney Island” and The
Play House” will also be shown. The event will
have live piano accompaniment by Bernie
Anderson. It will be hosted and curated by Ken
Gordon.
The free event will be held on Sunday, October
8 at 12:30 p.m. at the Central Library, 10
Grand Army Plaza.

AUTUMN PARK
SERENADE
Bay Ridge’s Narrows Botanical Gardens will
be hosting Autumn Park Serenade featuring
live acoustic music and artwork from various
Brooklyn/New York City based artists from 1-5
p.m. on Sunday, October 22.
Music will be performed by Casey Jost, Cosa
Grave, Rachel Housle and Brian Bonz. Artwork
will be displayed by Thomas Pitilli, John De La
O and more.
The free event will be held in the gardens
on Shore Road between Bay Ridge Avenue and
72nd Street.

BIRDING IN PEACE
Green-Wood Cemetery will be hosting “Birding
in Peace” on Sunday, October 8 from 6:30-8
a.m.
Before the gates open to the public, both
novice and expert bird watchers will have
a rare opportunity to discover and observe
birds of all species in the peace and quiet of
Green-Wood Cemetery. Tours are led by Rob
Jett, expert birder and founder of the birding
blog, The City Birder.
This walking tour is open to birders of all
levels. Participants are encouraged to bring
binoculars. A limited number of binoculars
are available on a first-come, first-served basis
if you do not have your own.
