PYO Bears and Jets fight to a draw
BY ROBERT CAVALIERE
PYO BEARS 12–PYO JETS 12 The first quarter between the
PYO Jets and Bears drew a
big blank on both sides of the
scoreboard because of fierce defensive
squads.
Linemen like Louis “No Way” Martinez,
Steven “Bone Crusher” Navarro
and Alessandro “Hammer Time” Alioto
of the PYO Bears put their muscle
together to present a united front
against the PYO Jet assault. But Julian
“TNT” Lopez, Matthew Fajardo and
Abdulkarim “Mad Dog” Abuzahreieh
hit the line with lethal determination.
Both sides refused to yield an inch
and were willing to give 100 percent
to hold their ground. Highlights
of the
quarter were
an awesome Bear pass interception
by “Hammer Time” Alioto and a slick
pass caught by Mario “Shot Gun”
Orlando of the Jets.
The PYO Jets drew first blood in the
second quarter by Luis “Sizzler” Cruz
entering Golden Soil. Cruz broke two
Bear tackles, turned direction and
charged to the end zone for six points.
Jack “Sure Thing” Lally countered
with an unstoppable 45-yard run,
breaking three tackles and charging
up the sideline for a Bear touchdown.
Daniel Simonian displayed much
courage and was an enormous asset
to the Bears.
Romeo “Ice Man” Lopez, Nicholas
“Night Train” Esposito, Myles
Edward and Mohammed Hamdan
were sensational and gave enormous
performances.
There was no scoring in
the third quarter but
strong playing by Charles
“Rocket” Kitsakos, Ben
“A-Train” Watson, Nicholas
Gargano and “No
Way” Martinez was noted
by all. “A-Train” Watson
deflected a pass, causing
a major turnover.
The tally was six-all
going into the fourth
quarter but that didn’t last long. Jack
“Sure Thing” Lally charged 20 yards to
Sacred Ground to put the Bears ahead
12 to six. Now everyone dug in and a
fierce clash erupted on the line.
Then Nicholas “A-Train” Esposito
carried up the middle on a brutal
journey, breaking through the Bear
defensive line to tie the score 12-all.
Outstanding Jet players were Noor
Il-Din Hamdan, Mohammed Hamdan,
Enrique Valerio and Jaxon Weatherspoon.
Simonian and Elias Rivera
were also among the most aggressive
players of this game.

The “Rocket” Charles Kitsakos, blasts off with Romeo “Ice
Man” Lopez hot on his trail and Lopez knocks the “Rocket” out
of bounds.
Zaire “Postman” Thomas
ran into a PYO Jet brick wall
when Eli “Freight Train” Soto,
Myles Edward, Nicholas
“Night Train” Esposito and
Samuel Bayer stopped him
dead in his tracks.
Edwin “Lethal Weapon” Perez makes an awesome interception
and begins to charge down field.
Steve “Bone Crusher” Navarro
and Louis “No Way” Martinez
rained on Mario “Shot Gun”
Orlando’s parade.
