4 C RY D E R P O I N T JUNE ANNOUNCEMENTS May was quite an eventful month as reseeding of the courtyard began to take hold (and will be continuing as needed), the new benches were installed along the promenade and throughout the property, and our flag-raising ceremony was held on May 27. It was great to see such a nice turnout for the event, and I hope you enjoy the article and photos of the big day in this issue. The pool also opened on May 27 under the new management of Elite. Members, please be sure to meet our new managers, Shaun and Jon, who along with their staff of lifeguards are here to make this a really enjoyable season. For anyone who might be concerned that it’s too late to join, fear not! Memberships are accepted on an ongoing basis, so please don’t hesitate to see Stacey in the Management office. We also held a shareholders’ meeting on May 23 to review the capital projects that we’ve all managed to slog through over the past several years. For those of you who weren’t able to attend, a recap is available with your concierge to provide you with the info. In addition to the capital overview, the recent Department of Buildings violations were discussed and are included in the recap, so please be sure to pick up a copy so that you’re up-to-date. Ah, but we’re now in June, and that means the Board of Directors’ Election is coming up. For your convenience, the candidates’ resumes are reprinted in this issue, so please take a moment to check them out. On behalf of everyone on the Board, I urge all shareholders to come to the Meet the Candidates Night on Thursday, June 8, and to cast their ballots on Thursday, June 22. If you can’t make it to the meeting itself, please complete your proxy so that we achieve a quorum and have an election for the Board of Directors. I can’t emphasize enough that your vote counts! Till next time, Jill Davis CORRECTIONS In the article on the Spring Festival that appeared in the May edition of the Cryder Point Courier, the name of one volunteer was misstated and another’s was omitted. Irene Magnozzi was incorrectly cited as Irene McGee. We don’t know who Irene McGee is, but we’re sure she’s a lovely person. The volunteer who was left out of the article is Mona Blumenreich who skillfully (and craftily) supervised the hiding of eggs. We apologize for the errors and are confident that our readers can look forward to more editorial gaffes in future issues. Publisher & Editor Victoria Schneps-Yunis Associate Publisher Joshua A.
