18 APRIL 21 – APRIL 27, 2017 BROOKLYN MEDIA GROUP Stroke program recognized NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital was honored for its stroke program at this year’s American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) 2017 International Stroke Conference in Houston, Texas. The AHA/ASA recognizes hospitals that comply with its Get with the Guidelines quality measures, and NYP Brooklyn Methodist was given the Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award as well as a di cult-to-obtain spot on the Target: Stroke Elite Plus Honor Roll. “This recognition is a testament to the continued excellence, dedication and multidisciplinary collaboration at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist to provide the best evidence-based stroke care to our patients,” said Dr. Natalie Cheng. “We are honored to receive this recognition and plan to continue expanding our services to the Brooklyn community.” NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist is a New York State-certiied stroke center. The hospital's Emergency Department is fully equipped to diagnose strokes quickly, and o ers rapid evaluation of stroke patients and the advanced treatments—including both medication and highly sophisticated neuroradiology procedures that may reverse the damage caused by a stroke. Celebrating a milestone Over 180 people from Bay Ridge and the area stepped away from their projects to gather at Le Sajj Restaurant on Saturday, April 1 to take part in a groundbreaking event, “The Fourth Year Anniversary of Optimum Health Physical Therapy.” Francis Reyes and Antoine Hitti, co-founders of Optimum Health Physical Therapy, received a Certifi cate of Merit from State Senator Martin Golden. Father Khader El-Yateem who is running for City Council was a speaker at the event and shared his point of view on the challenges facing the medical fi eld in our country. A number of medical providers, business owners and community leaders attended the event. The party turned into an outstanding four hours of networking, enjoying great food, dancing and listening to wonderful music provided by the one and only DJ Mikey Post, ending with an amazing belly dancing show.
