The students wrote about an “older person in their life who is special to them and why.” The essay winners are: • Hayley Bruno- PS 277 • Gabrielle Rubin – PS 195 The winners, along with their parents, teachers, PTA presidents and school administration will attend the event. On behalf of SNRC, our executive team, as well as the residents who judged the essay contest, will attend the ceremony. Each school winner will be awarded a four pack of tickets to UA Sheepshead Bay Stadium 14 IMAX with snacks and drinks from the concession stand. This is the second year SNRC ran the contest for the local schools. The health center recognizes the positive eect it has on residents’ lives when people from the community, in particular children interact with them. About Sheepshead Nursing & Rehabilitation Center SNRC is a family-owned and operated five-star healthcare facility established in 1995. In 1999, SNRC became the first skilled nursing facility in Brooklyn to provide rehabilitation therapy. The facility oers subacute care, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.Patients receive intensive physical therapy following joint replacement surgery. When patients leave Sheepshead, they can receive home care through Sheepshead’s Harbor Care, outpatient rehab therapy at Oceanview Rehab, or participate in Sheepshead’s adult day health program. In 2016, SNRC was ranked in US News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes for the sixth year consecutively. Sheepshead discharges over 1,000 patients annually back to the community. ADVERTORIAL The Principal, Board, Teachers, and Staff of Holy Angels Catholic Academy congratulate the class of 2017! During their years at the Academy, these students have experienced a challenging new curriculum and mastered many advanced learning techniques. They participated in such programs as the Duns Scotus Honors Program, National Junior Honor Society, Rosetta Stone Language Programs, the Aquinas Club and Performing Arts Theater classes. This small group of graduates earned over $233,000 in scholarships, awarded by such outstanding Catholic High Schools, including St. Savior, Fontbonne Hall, Xaverian and Xavier. Prior to graduation, they began their celebration with a graduation dinner dance at the Bay Ridge Manor, and a fun-filled day at the Woodloch Family Resort in the Pocono’s. On June 16th they begin the day with a Graduation Mass at Our Lady of Angels Church in the morning, and the commencement ceremony later that afternoon.
