MOSES CHUNKY PUGGLE is a
10-year-old, medium-size, tail-wagging
pug/beagle mix. He is neutered,
current with vaccinations,
housetrained, with short hair. He
is very sweet and friendly. He is a
chunky monkey and would benefit
from a slow reducing diet and a good
bit of exercise.
When he is off leash at the care
center, Moses greets other small
male and female dogs, but mostly
keeps to himself while exploring
the yard. He is nice with other dogs.

She is a beautiful

tuxedo Boston
crossed with a
Pitti mix, making her a Bitti!
Sparkle lives up to her name
in every way. She is playful, fun,
sweet, loves toys and balls, never
stops wagging her tail, and has the
best ear-to-ear grin. When she is not
smiling, which is rare, you can see
her adorably pouty underlip–which
you will want to schmush.
Around strangers, Sparkle is
good company and outgoing. She
lived with children ages five years
and older and was very playful
and gentle with them. Sparkle gets
anxious when left alone. Her commands
are sit down, come and stay.
She loves walks on the leash and
pulls light.
Sparkle executes a perfect sit in
anticipation of a treat which she
takes gently with a sweet wave of
her tail. She will be happy with a box
full of toys and balls. It is a guarantee
that you will be wearing an ear-toear
grin as big as Sparkle’s.
Sparkle’s previous caretaker
described her as having a very high
level of activity. She is a young,
enthusiastic, social dog who will
need daily mental and physical
activity to keep her engaged and
exercised.
Come and meet her today. You
will want to make her yours, and
Zani’s will send you home with a
tennis ball for starters.

A dog can be your best friend,
a companion who loves you unconditionally
and pawever, a confidant
who listens to every word you
utter, licks away your salty tears,
and protects and warns you when
energies shifts.
This bond between human and
canine is reassuring and real, and
cannot be broken. Throughout my
life, starting when I was six years
old, five special canines shared their
lives with me. Each dog left its indelible
paw mark in my heart. Their
loving spirits are with me always...
until we meet again.

What an absolute terrific
turnout for the street
co-naming ceremonies in
honor of the late, great
Tom Kane. The block that
Kane grew up on 88th
street near Colonial Road
was formally dedicated
Tom Kane Way and was
even blessed by Reverend
Gerard Sauer, the pastor of
St. Mel's Church, a former associate
pastor at Bay Ridge's St.
Patrick's Church and a personal
friend.
A host of dignitaries were on hand to join
Kane's family, friends and associates on this
auspicious occasion. City Councilmember
Vinnie Gentile -- who ensured the full Council
approved the co-naming, wrote in the program,
"A lifelong Bay Ridge resident, Tom's
tremendous contributions and achievements
left an indelible mark on the community he
loved so much."
Close friend Frankie Marra sang and
played "Forever Young" by Bob Dylan. Kane
was a big, big Dylan fan!
