Here are some of the exciting exhibits and activities happening now and in the upcoming months: Science Inspires Art: Food Now through February 26, 2017 This 18th art-science, juried exhibition organized by Art & Science Collaborations, Inc., includes more than two dozen images of art that reflect on the topic of food from all angles: from the historical record to the elite haute-cuisine of today’s “molecular gastronomy,” as a physical material for making or inspiring art, or as a vehicle for stimulating important community discussion. Free with NYSCI admission. GingerBread Lane November 11, 2016 - January 15, 2017 Visitors can marvel at homemade gingerbread houses made entirely of edible gingerbread, royal icing and candy. The houses are drafted, designed, baked, planned, built and decorated by chef Jon Lovitch over the course of an entire year. GingerBread Lane has won the Guinness World Record for 2013, 2014 and 2015 for the largest gingerbread village. Lovitch’s creation will again contend for this year’s Guinness World Record. Free with NYSCI admission. Hall of Science 3D Theater Dolby 3D Digital Cinema brings realistic color and a sharp, clear image from every seat in our theater. With a 5.1 surround sound speaker system and a screen size of 22 by 12.6 feet, the selection of award-winning science films will transport you to locations around the world, including the base of America’s most spectacular canyon and the remote mountain peaks of Mexico. The schedule varies and includes award-winning, animated feature films, in addition to educational offerings. Admission is $6 for adults and $5 for children, students and seniors, plus NYSCI admission. NYSCI members, $4 per person; free for Family Explorer members.
