It’s located at 98-30 57 Avenue in Section #4 of LeFrak City. Check it out! Time for Teens Think going to the library is boring? Not so fast! There’s a bunch of stuff for teens at the LeFrak City Library: • Monday through Friday 3:30pm-4:30pm: "Snack and Chat" - Teens can enjoy a snack and chat with their friends after school. Fun, educational activities to recharge brains are included. • Fridays, 4:00pm-5:00pm: "Game on!" - Super fun, mind bending games. • Thursdays, 6:00pm-7:00pm: "Step-by-Step" - Learn and practice all of the classic and latest line dances, the Wobble, Cupid Shuffle, Macarena, and much more. One-on-One Device Help Wednesdays, 12:00pm-1:00pm and Thursdays, 6:00pm-7:00pm - Meet with a Specialist or Librarian to learn how to set up your mobile device or tablet. Get help setting up an email account, downloading music, e-books, or other digital contents. Preregistration is required. Educational Classes – Now through December 17, 2016 Nutrition and Health: Tuesdays, 1:15pm-2:215pm and 2:45pm-3:45pm Advanced ESL Reading & Conversation: Saturdays, 11:00am-1:00pm Reading Critically: Thursdays, 12:00pm-2:45pm Toddler Storytime Wednesdays, 11:00am-11:30am - Come join us for toddler storytime! Children ages 12 months to 4 years with a parent or other adult caregiver can join us for stories, songs, nursery rhymes, and a coloring page. Friends of the LeFrak City Library Many branches of the New York City Library have Friends of the Library Chapters, and the LeFrak City Library chapter was formed in August, 2000. Friends Chapters enrich community life around their community library. You will meet other people who care, and you will benefit your neighborhood by: • Increasing community awareness and library use. • Acting as liaisons between community and your library. • Sponsoring programs that enhance the cultural life of your community. As a Friend, you will: • Educate your community about the Library’s vital services. • Contribute your time towards programs and special activities at the library. • Advocate for better library service through outreach, legislative contact, and fundraising. BECOME A FRIEND One of the advantages of being a LeFrak City resident is having access to a New York Public Library on the premises. The library offers much more than an opportunity for great reading, a chance to experience the latest music or rent new movie video releases. The library provides informative programs for children, teens, tweens and adults.
