N E W S M A Y 10 L E H A V R E La La Land Friday, May 12, 7pm A return to the movie musical, La La Land received 14 Oscar nominations and won six, including Best Actress and Best Director. The story is of struggling actress Mia (Emma Stone) and ambitious jazz pianist Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), who begin a meteoric romance as they both follow their hearts in the path of their dreams in LA. When they reach a point where their career paths pull them in different directions, they are forced to face the challenges in their growing relationship. (imdb. com) Rated PG-13. Director: Damien Chazelle Writer: Damien Chazelle Cast: Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, Rosemarie DeWitt “Extending his collaboration with the composer Justin Hurwitz… Chazelle has assembled a vibrant, infectiously hummable pastiche of musical and cinematic styles. The result is, by any reasonable measure, one of the loveliest things you will experience in a theater this year. Much of this is because of the incandescent star wattage of Stone and Gosling, pulling off their third and finest screen collaboration…” ~ Justin Chang, The Los Angeles Times 10 LEHAVRE COURIER | MAY 2017 | WWW.QNS.COM Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Friday, May 26, 7pm All looks lost for the Rebellion against the Empire as they learn of the existence of a new super weapon, the Death Star. Yes, possibly even ‘Empire.’ ‘Rogue One’ stands tall as an emotionally resonant, visually exciting expansion of the ‘Star Wars’ universe.” Kristen Page-Kirby, The Washington Post The Dining Diva: Casa Asia BY HELENE OELERICH For a comfortable eat-out dining experience or at-home delivery for Thai, Chinese and Japanese classics— including curries and sushi—come to Casa Asia.
