Sunnyside Shines Welcoming New Neighbors in Sunnyside New residents of Sunnyside now have a new tool to get to know their neighborhood. Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District launched a new “Welcome Kit” at the Taste of Sunnyside on May 23rd that includes a business directory, a Shop Sunnyside card, and a Sunnyside Shines sticker. The new kit is being distributed widely through Sunnyside Shines’ community events, local hotels, and local realtors. While anyone can request a Welcome Kit, Sunnyside Shines Executive Director Jaime-Faye Bean explains that it is especially geared to new residents of the neighborhood. “We are a growing neighborhood, and we want to make sure that as new residents move into Sunnyside, they are developing a strong affinity for our local business community,” she notes. “Our new business directory gives new residents a tool to get familiar with 46 JUNE 2017 I LIC COURIER I www.qns.com everything our neighborhood has to offer, and the Shop Sunnyside card gives them great incentives to keep them coming back again and again to the many small businesses that participate in the program.” The Sunnyside Welcome Kit is free upon request; members of the public wishing to get their own can do so by calling Sunnyside Shines at 718-606- 1800 or by emailing info@sunnysideshines. org.
