LIC Partnership 40 DECEMBER 2016 i LIC COURIER i www.qns.com While Black Friday and Cyber Monday featured big box stores and online retailers, the hundreds of small businesses in Long Island City were the focus of “Small Business Saturday,” a nationwide initiative to support local merchants on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. LICP staff distributed more than 1,000 shopping guides and 400 tote bags. Social media efforts reached 4,000 within our immediate area and our welcome stations had heavy foot traffic.
