Sunnyside Shines New Eats in Sunyside Sunnyside, Queens keeps getting more delicious by the minute. In the last several weeks, the neighborhood has welcomed three new restaurants to the neighborhood: Cumbia and Sabor, Paris Baguette and Dayboat. These new spots add to the delicious food scene already alive and well in this diverse, lively neighborhood just a few stops on the 7 line from Midtown Manhattan. 46 DECEMBER 2016 i LIC COURIER i www.qns.com CUMBIA and SABOR From the owner of local Peruvian hotspot Riko comes the gorgeous Colombian eatery Cumbia and Sabor to Sunnyside’s Greenpoint Avenue. With a full menu of arepas and traditional Colombian dishes, Cumbia and Sabor serves up authentic fare in a rustic and charming setting, you’d never imagine that the location used to be home to a McDonalds! Sip on Colombian coffee and freshly made juices, all just around the corner from the 7 train at 46th Street. 45-06 Greenpoint Avenue at 45th Street PARIS BAGUETTE Sunnysiders are delighted to have our very own outpost of Paris Baguette now open in the neighborhood. This Korean-owned bakery brings fresh breads, pastries, sandwiches and desserts to the heart of the neighborhood, right under the Sunnyside arch. Paris Baguette is a great place to stock up on holiday treats as well, from custom cakes to adorable boxes of macarons. 45-22 46th Street at Queens Boulevard. DAYBOAT This month, Dayboat opened their doors in the former Salt and Fat location on Queens Boulevard. Dayboat brings market-driven, Peruvian-inspired ceviches and other seafood dishes to Sunnyside. The emphasis here is on fresh, and the menu reflects what the chef finds at the market each day. If you’ve never tried Peruvian seafood, you’re in for a treat – there are five different ceviches on the menu, plus tiradito, the Peruvian take on sashimi featuring wafer-thin slices of raw fish dressed in a light marinade, as well as salads and other entrees for the raw fish averse. Fans of Salt and Fat won’t be disappointed – there are S&F alums in the Dayboat kitchen! 41-16 Queens Boulevard at 42nd Street.
