On behalf of the Long Island
City Partnership, and our cohosts
Modern Spaces and the
Queens Courier, we welcome you
to the fourth annual LIC Summit:
Innovating Community.
Long Island City is an authentic mixed-use
neighborhood, with an exceptional blend
of industrial, commercial, residential, tech
and cultural sectors. Each year we have
the challenge of covering this dynamism
within the confines of one Summit. In the
past three years we’ve covered everything
from Residential & Commercial Real Estate,
Workforce, Transportation, Arts & Culture,
TV & Film, and LIC as a Fashion District.
Today, we are focusing on how we knit the
community together through innovating at
every level – from the Streets to the Cloud.
Key questions for discussion will include:
• How will LIC knit its growing population
and expanding businesses together to
foster place and community?
• How can LIC accommodate more space
for innovation, tech and biosciences?
• How do we ensure we build the right
retail mix, connect people to our cultural
resources, facilitate job growth and
encourage healthy living?
We have assembled a distinguished roster
of thought leaders from across the borough,
city and state to discuss our community’s
current and future landscape. Many more are
in the audience, and we look forward to an
important discourse throughout the day.
We wish to thank all of our elected officials,
sponsors, partners, and civic and business
leaders who have together driven the
monumental change in LIC. We also thank
our stellar Summit Planning Committee and
Board for helping us put together such a
high quality program, and the Museum of the
Moving Image for hosting us.
Thank you for attending today and being part
of the conversation. We hope that you will
participate actively both today and beyond.
