The pie chart on the left breaks out the number of different sources of income that freelancers have in a typical month. Unlike traditional, on-staff employees, nearly 9 out of 10 freelancers generate income from more than one source of work (87%). Working two to three gigs per month is by far the most common (52%), with just over one-third (35%) having four or more different sources of income per month.
