St. Albans student has an eye for history
and school activities
Rebecca Bhimsain, a senior at the Math,
Science Research and Technology (MAST)
High School at the Campus Magnet Complex
in St. Albans, serves as senior class president
and as an active member of the Leadership
Class. She’s also treasurer of the school’s
National Honor Society chapter; captain and
offi cial peer leader of the College Summit
team; editor of the MAST Literary Magazine;
dancer and dance instructor in the Dance
Club; and volunteer for open school nights
and parent teacher conferences. She plans to
study history and archeology at SUNY New
Paltz and hopes to one day become a U.S.
and European history professor, and conduct
the occasional archaeology dig.

Adams as a way to tell
parents about events,
workshops and speakers
for the rest of the
year. Th e event also
served to get parents
involved in organizing
school activities.
This Jamaica
student is ready to
pursue a legal career
Ashley Nelson is a senior in the
Public Service & Law Small Learning
Community, which is one of nine within
Hillcrest High School. She has taken
courses such as introduction to law,
criminal justice, criminology and legal
research and has been involved in moot
court and mock trial competitions. She
hopes to practice international law in
the future. She’s on the school Academic
Roll, earning a GPA of 4.0 and has
already taken AP/honors courses in U.S.
history, environmental science, physics
and English.

lled weekend socializing while
enjoying the resort’s facilities.
