show residents the art of
painting on water from fellow
artist Mustafa Yasar.
The Turkish art being demonstrated
is called Ebru. This
art is a form of a decorative
paper art where each painting
has a different design.
Come watch Mustafa Yasar
display his unique craft and
try it out for yourself. The
event will start at 11:15 a.m.
and will be at 67-09 108th

is required and will cost $15

An Irish Speed Friending event is coming to the New York Irish Center in Long Island
City at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 8. Speed friending is a casual event with a twist.
It’s designed to connect Irish expats, locals and internationals across the NYC area.
Over the course of the event, people will spend five minutes getting to know each
other before rotating to the next partner. You can also continue socializing over complimentary
specialty cocktails, while their full bar will be open. For admission, the
early bird special is only $15, cheaper than the $20 admission price at the door. The

Shabbat dinner in
North America at the Rego
Park Jewish Center. Rabbi
Romiel Daniel will lead the
Shabbat Across America celebration
that takes place
across the continent, in hundreds
of Synagogues that
unifies all Jews. The Shabbat
dinner will include gefilte
fish, chicken, cucumber
salad, dessert and beverages.
The dinner will start at 7 p.m.
and will cost $22 per adult.
For children ages 6 through
12, it costs only $10, while
children ages 5 and under
can get in for free. You must
reserve your spot by Friday,
March 2, to join the celebration.

Jest.” It’s a performance
where a girl named Sarah
has a problem. Her parents
want to meet her beau, Chris
Cringle, but knows they will
not approve. In order to get
her parents’ approval, Sarah
hires an escort to pose as her
Jewish beau. That’s where
problems begin. Come see
the rest of the play at the

Futures Workshop
is coming to the Queens
Museum. The workshop
is organized by the
Extrapolation Factory, a New
York design practice focused
on helping communities
imagine possible futures.
The outcomes of the workshop
will be presented at this
year’s Milan Design Week.
The prop-making and designing
will take place on March
3, while the testing of the
designs through role play will
take place from 1 to 4 p.m.
on March 10. The program is
free of charge, but free registration
to attend both days
