Arts Center presents “A Twist of
Lemmon.” Jack Lemmon is a twotime
Academy Award winner who
has appeared in dozens of films,
such as “The Odd Couple” and “The
Apartment.” The legendary actor’s son,
Chris Lemon does a great job sharing
family tales and anecdotes from
and about his dad. He talks about his
father’s career as well as the interactions
his father had with other legendary
hollywood figures, including
Marilyn Monroe, James Cagney and
Gregory Peck. The event is only $40,
but there is limited seating. The event
will start at 3 p.m. The Queensborough

11 Central Queens Y in
Forest Hills is hosting a
two-day film festival, featuring a
total of six films. The films include
“Unstuck,” “Perfectly Normal for Me,”
“Mr. Connolly has ALS,” “Heaven is a
Traffic Jam on the 405,” “The Barber
of Augusta” and “Scaffolding.” After
each film there will be speakers and
discussion, including filmmakers and
the actors who produced the respective
documentaries. Coffee and light
refreshments will be provided for
each film and the best part is, the
event is free. Five of the films will
be shown on March 11, starting at
10 a.m. The sixth film will start the

12 A keynote with Yolanda
Arroyo Pizarro will be held
at the Marillac Theater at St. John’s
University. She is an award-winning
Puerto Rican writer. Over the course of
her career, Yolanda has been awarded
the National Institute of Puerto
Rican Literature Prize, Woman Latino
Writer Award Residency as well as
a few others. She is also the author
of Caparazones, the first lesbian fiction
novel written in Puerto Rico. The
event is free and will take place from
2 to 4 p.m. The conversation will be
moderated by Vanessa Valdes. St.

energy systems are welcome to
the NYC Installer Workshop: Solar
and Storage. The program will run

hosting the film “Darby O’Gill and the
Little People.” It is a Walt Disney feature
film starring Albert Sarpe and
Janet Munro. The film is about a wily
Irishman and his battle of wits with
leprechauns. The screening is part
of the NYIC Matinee on a Monday
Classic Series. Tickets range from $10

learn how to play wheelchair
basketball? Well, here’s your
chance to learn. Flushing Meadows
Corona Park is hosting a scrimmage
with the Brooklyn Nets Wheelchair
Basketball team. From 7 to 9:30 p.m.,
the Al Oerter Recreation Center will
hold the scrimmage. The event is free
to participate and is guaranteed to be

The Shillelagh Tavern invites musicians to showcase their talent at
their weekly open mic night. From 8 p.m. to midnight on Tuesday,
March 13, each artist is given time to perform one to three songs of
their choice. You may bring your own instruments, but equipment will
be provided, including amps, microphones, monitors and a full drum
kit. The tavern also has a total of six beers on tap, 18 choices of bottled
