It’s time to celebrate all of the dads, granddads, uncles, husbands and every father fi gure for making an impact in your life. Th ere are plenty of ways to celebrate dads. Here are a few events that are happening on Father’s Day in Queens that your dad will love. 1. Catch a screening of “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial” Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35th Ave., Astoria, 12:30 p.m. For the dad who loves classic movies, the Museum of the Moving Image is hosting a screening of “E.T. the Extra Terrestrial” at 12:30 p.m. in the Redstone Th eater. Tickets are available for $15 and include entrance to the rest of the museum. If you’re looking for the ultimate E.T. experience, you can also get tickets to the Virtual Reality Bike Ride with E.T., which is happening at 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. that same day. 2. Head over to Citi Field for a Mets Game Citi Field, 123-01 Roosevelt Ave., 1:10 p.m. If your dad is a Mets fan, take him to the game! Watch the Mets take on the Washington Nationals while enjoying the new eats at Citi Field. Father’s Day is also Father’s Day Cap Day, so you and your father can protect yourself from the sun with a brand-new hat! 3. Kayaking at Socrates Sculpture Park Beach at Hallets Cove Socrates Sculpture Park – LIC Boathouse, 32-01 Vernon Blvd., Long Island City, 1 to 5 p.m. Whether you’ve spent your whole life kayaking or have never touched a paddle in your life, this event is a great way to spend Father’s Day. Spend the afternoon floating down Hallets Cove while learning the basics of kayaking. Life preservers are available for the whole family, including your pets! 4. Zip, Jump & Climb at Atlas Park in Glendale The Shops at Atlas Park, 80-00 Cooper Ave., Glendale, noon to 7 p.m. For the adventurous dad, enjoy some ziplining, rock climbing and extreme air jumping right in the Shops at Atlas Park! Hosted by Zip Jump Climb, this is NYC’s only zipline attraction and it’s perfect for people of all ages who want to feel what it’s like to be an acrobat. Enjoy music at the Botanic Garden with the Quintet of the Americas Queens Botanical Garden, 43-50 Main St., Flushing, 2 p.m. If you’re looking to have a mellow Father’s Day with a dad who loves nature, head over to the Queens Botanical Garden. At 2 p.m., there will be a performance by Quintet of the Americas, who will put on a concert about the environment with ragtime, jazz and contemporary music, and will read poetry about the Earth by Walt Whitman and Ralph Waldo Emerson.
