Armed robbers wig out at 6 businesses in 8 days: cops

Th e armed duo responsible for two service
station robberies in Maspeth and
Middle Village last weekend have held up
three additional businesses in Queens in
the last 72 hours, authorities said.
Police were able to get a good look via
security cameras at the wig-wearing bandits
in one of their most recent capers,
the Sept. 30 robbery of a Dunkin’ Donuts
shop within a Speedway gas station located
at 134-14 Cross Bay Blvd.
According to law enforcement sources,
the crooks walked into the station, displayed
guns and demanded cash. One of
the perpetrators punched a 52-year-old
worker in the face, then removed $50 in
cash and fl ed the scene with his cohort.
Police said the duo struck twice more
in south Queens early on the morning
of Oct. 1. Th ey reportedly stole $600 in
cash from the 7-Eleven store located at
224-01 Merrick Blvd. in Laurelton at 3:14
a.m., then swiped $1,340 in cash from the
Sunoco station located at 243-02 South
Conduit Ave. in Rosedale at 4:35 a.m. on
Sunday.
Th e pair have been linked to two
armed gas station robberies in the 104th
Precinct’s confi nes that occurred within
30 minutes of each other on the morning
of Sept. 24. Law enforcement sources
said they stole $500 in cash from the BP
station located at 59-36 Maurice Ave. in
Maspeth at 1:30 a.m. that morning, then
headed over to the Mobil station located
at 69-08 Eliot Ave. in Middle Village,
removing $1,000 in cash at gunpoint.
Authorities further tied the pair to the
Sept. 24 robbery of a Shell station located
at 92-10 Astoria Blvd. in East Elmhurst at
5:20 a.m. on Sept. 24. Th e crooks displayed
weapons and swiped $1,000 in cash.
Detectives obtained security camera
footage of the suspects during the Ozone
Park caper. One bandit was described
as a black man wearing a white longsleeved
T-shirt, blue jeans, red sneakers
and a short black wig. His cohort was also
described as a black man who was last
seen wearing a white Lacoste baseball hat,
a blue long-sleeved shirt, blue jean shorts,
