Th e Wolves pulled a major upset in the
Whitepoint Youth Football and Cheer
Bantam Division when they defeated the
Panthers 20-6 in a hard-hitting game on
Oct. 21.
Early in the game, the Wolves had a
strong goal line stand, led by defensive
end Ethan Beer which set the tone for the
entire game.
On off ense, the Wolves half back Jayden
Asmed had another sensation game, rushing
for a pair of touchdowns and getting
several key fi rst downs to keep important
drives alive for his team.
Helping to keep the Wolves’ off ense
going were quarterback Parker Zols and
wide receiver GianLuca Sofsky, who
made a great run aft er catching a wide
receiver screen pass to score the Wolves’
third touchdown of the contest.
Th e Panthers had several chances of
their own, but were held in check for
most of the game by a good Wolves
defense. Panthers quarterback Benjamin
Friedman made a great play by avoiding
the rush of the defensive line and
throwing a bomb to wide receiver Joe
Santos who made a spectacular catch with
defenders nearby.
Lineman Elijah Cumbal and fullback
Tim Flahtery both had great games for
the Panthers in the losing eff ort.
With the playoff race in full swing, the
Wolves are fi ghting hard to make a playoff
run, and the games to be played on
Saturday, Oct. 28 will determine who will
play in the championship game.
Th e Whitepoint Youth Cheerleaders
also gave a top-notch performance at
halft ime. Former cheerleader and current
Assistant Coach, Gianna Fabrizi, helped
her cheermates stay on the beat and the
Cheer Squad wowed the spectators with
some fabulous stunts.
