Located in a former school building, the venue has an outdoor gallery, a two-story display room with high ceilings, and many creatively utilized nooks and crannies. Within MoMA PS1’s exhibition seasons, a minimum of eight spaces have been reserved for International and National Project artists. Inside scoop: From June to September, MoMA PS1 presents Warm Up, a Saturday music series that introduces audiences to the best in experimental live music, sound, and DJs in its courtyard. SculptureCenter The SculptureCenter exhibits experimental and innovative work by more than 40 international artists annually in a cavernous converted trolley repair shop. Featured sculptors range from internationally recognized stars to emerging local talent. This year, the venue finished a major, multimillion dollar renovation. Now patrons enter the facility through a 2,000-square-foot, one-story lobby with a bookshop, coatroom, seating area, and restrooms on the way to 6,500 square feet of interior exhibition space, an elevator, and a stairway to the lower level galleries.
