Th e New York Racing Association announced a series of job fairs to fi ll temporary employment positions for the 2017 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. NYRA is seeking talented and ambitious applicants ready to serve horseplayers and racing fans from around the world. NYRA annually hires approximately 1,200 temporary employees to serve guests and support operations during Belmont Stakes Week. To fi ll these positions on behalf of NYRA, Noor Staffi ng Group will be hosting fi ve job fairs at Belmont Park: From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, at Belmont Park: North Shore Terrace (fourth fl oor) of the Clubhouse. Job fair attendees should park in the silver lot and enter through the main Clubhouse entrance (Gate 5 off Elmont Avenue). From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5, at Belmont Park: North Shore Terrace (fourth fl oor) of the Clubhouse. Job fair attendees should park in the silver lot and enter through the main Clubhouse entrance (Gate #5 off Elmont Avenue). From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at Belmont Park, in the North Shore Terrace (fourth fl oor) of the Clubhouse. From 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 12, at Belmont Park: North Shore Terrace (fourth fl oor) of the Clubhouse. Belmont Park is located at 2150 Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont: by car, Cross Island Parkway, Exit 26D (traveling south) and Exit 26A (traveling north); and by railroad, via the LIRR from Jamaica, Woodside or Penn Station). Applicants for positions, other than betting clerks and admission cashiers, must be at least 16 years of age with working papers and have with them two forms of identifi cation (I-9 appropriate). Betting clerk applicants must be at least 18 years of age, present a current resume, and have a minimum of three years of cash-handling experience. The two-day event hosted teams from the Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL), the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) and the Athletic Association of Independent Schools (AAIS). Th e Cardozo Girls Track and Field team wasted no time capturing the 4x800-Meter Relay title in 9:37.01 on day two of the meet on Saturday, April 8. Th is was a huge victory for the team early in the outdoor season. Th e relay team of Tatiana Martinez, Shalah Means, Sophia Muccini and Paris Peoples had a signifi cant lead over the rest of the competitors, with second place more than 30 meters behind them. Th e team will compete at the 2017 Penn Photos by Joseph Swift Relays on April 27-29 in Philadelphia, PA.
