According to the criminal complaint provided by the Queens District Attorney’s offi ce, at around 4 p.m. on May 5, Kevin Alvarez, 17, of Jamaica, called the 18-year-old victim and told the victim to meet him outside of P.S. 175, located at 64-35 102nd St. Upon his arrival, the victim saw Alvarez and about 30 other students waiting for him. Law enforcement sources said the group chased the victim down the street, catching up to him at 65th Road. Th e group then began to attack the victim, with Alvarez stabbing the victim in his right side while the other students punched and kicked the victim repeatedly. In addition to the stab wound, the victim suff ered a laceration to the back of the head as well as cuts and bruises to his face and hands. He was treated at a local hospital, where his injuries were found to be non-life-threatening. Alvarez was arrested on Th ursday, May 11, and arraigned on two assault charges and one menacing charge the following day. He is being held on $150,000 bail, cash or bond, and is due to return to court on May 25. If convicted, Alvarez could spend seven years in prison. Guo Hui Jiang, 43, allegedly shot the 27-year-old woman in the head at his home on 78th Road near 141st Street at 9:40 a.m. on May 14. Police said a child may have also been in the residence during the incident. Offi cers from the 107th Precinct responded to a 911 call about the shooting. Th e woman was transported to Jamaica Hospital, where she is listed in stable condition. Jiang was arrested at the scene and faces charges including attempted murder, assault, criminal weapons, reckless endangerment of a child and several drug charges. 114th Precinct Astoria and Long Island City Police are looking for Queensbridge Houses resident who shot a man in front of the development Detectives need your help in fi nding a man wanted in connection with the shooting of a 38-year-old man at the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City on May 15. According to the NYPD, the suspect got into a dispute with the 38-year-old victim at 41-10 10th St. at about 4:46 p.m. on the aft ernoon of Monday, May 15. Th e suspect, identifi ed as 34-year-old Justice Johnson, fi red three rounds at the victim, hitting him once in the chest. Police said Johnson then ran into the Queensbridge Houses at 41-11 Vernon Blvd. Th e victim was taken to Cornell Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. Cops recovered the fi rearm but Johnson, who lives at the Queensbridge Houses in 41-07 12th St., is still on the loose. In 2016, residents at Queensbridge Houses celebrated one year with no shootings. A program called Cure Violence was introduced there to de-escalate confl icts.
