Keeping Brooklyn Healthy The Brooklyn Hospital Center Welcomes New President and CEO The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s Board of Trustees has proudly announced the appointment of Gary G. Terrinoni as the hospital’s new President and Chief Executive Officer. As the former Executive Vice President of Administration (COO) and Chief Financial Officer at Kennedy Health System in New Jersey, Mr. Terrinoni brings stature and a wealth of healthcare experience to Brooklyn. As Brooklyn’s first voluntary hospital, TBHC takes great pride in its unique heritage and enduring relationship to the borough of Brooklyn and its people, which dates back to 1845. “I am delighted to return to New York City, to serve as President of the Brooklyn Hospital Center,” said Terrinoni, “It is a great honor to join the staff of this innovative hospital and to be a part of its vision to improve access to high-quality, local care where it is most needed.” Since his arrival in November, Mr. Terrinoni has developed a strategy to expand the hospital’s reach and to remain steadfast in its commitment to excellence in caring for underserved residents throughout the borough, at the center of a changing Brooklyn. In-step with the new landscape of healthcare across the country, TBHC plans to “continue its mission as a critical safety net provider, committed to providing outstanding health services to the people of Brooklyn,” Mr. Terrinoni says. He has already highlighted certain areas of focus such as the development of a clinically integrated ambulatory strategy, including a focus on delivering stellar primary care and other health services at the community level. Other tenets of his vision include improving the financial viability of the hospital to invest in the people, physical plant and equipment necessary to nurture an innovative and modernized patient experience. In taking the helm of THBC, Mr. Terrinoni is assured that the historic hospital’s legacy of providing patient-centered care to its community will continue for many more years, stating, “I am confident that successful implementation of these strategies will cement TBHC’s position in Brooklyn as a destination provider of top-quality and compassionate healthcare to the people of Brooklyn and greater New York.
