Bank robbery goes
bad in Ridgewood

been linked to a failed heist
on the Ridgewood/Maspeth
border last week and other heist
attempts across the city, police
reported.
Police need your help in finding
John Grant, 50, who allegedly tried
to hold up the Chase bank located at
51-15 Metropolitan Ave. at 9:45 a.m. on
June 8.
According to law enforcement
sources, Grant arrived at the location
inside a black Toyota Prius, then
walked into the Chase bank and approached
the counter. He presented
a demand note to the teller, but the
employee refused to comply with his
request.
Grant then exited the bank empty
handed and was last seen entering
the rear of a blue Toyota Prius that
fl ed the scene, authorities said.
Grant’s last known address is
on Kosciuszko Street in Brooklyn.
According to court records, he was
arrested in December 2016 for an
attempted bank robbery in Queens.
According to information in a
wanted flier posted on the 104th
Precinct’s Twitter account, detectives
have linked Grant to an active
citywide bank robbery pattern.

Grant’s whereabouts is urged to
