Woodstock: Three Days That Defi ned a Generation
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Woodstock music
festival, director Barak Goodman gathered festival attendees to create a
compelling compilation of audio testimony from the people who lived it.
“Woodstock: Three Days That Defi ned a Generation” tells the story of how
the once-in-a-lifetime event came to be and how it felt for it to happen. The
fi lm also highlights some of the memorable performances at the festival,
including Jimi Hendrix, Joan Baez, Crosby, Stills and Nash, and more. The
documentary will debut on April 28 at the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless
Theater with three more screenings during the festival.
Yesterday
Closing night of the fi lm festival
will feature the world premiere of
“Yesterday,” directed by Danny
Boyle, the Academy Awardwinning
director of “Slumdog
Millionaire.” The feature fi lm tells
the story of a struggling musician
whose career is failing to get off
the ground until a mysterious
world-wide blackout leaves
him as the only person on earth
who remembers The Beatles.
“This isn’t a time travel movie
but it feels like introducing the
Beatles music to America for the
fi rst time again,” Boyle said of
the fi lm. The highly anticipated
cinematic release on June 28
will be precluded by the Tribeca
debut on May 4 at the Borough of
Manhattan Community College.
