Attacker ambushes man near karaoke bar

Flushing
Cops released video on May 2 of
a suspect who attacked a 19-year-old
man outside a Flushing karaoke bar
and robbed him.
The ambush occurred at 5:20 a.m. on
April 28 in front of the K-Show Lounge
at 38-10 138th St.
Security video provided to the
NYPD shows the attacker pacing on
the sidewalk moments before turning
around and jumping the victim from
behind. Authorities said the victim had
just exited from the K-Show Lounge.
Police said the robber assaulted the
victim about his body before taking
his necklace and earring. He then fled
the scene on foot southbound along
138th Street.
Officers from the 109th Precinct
responded to the incident. The victim
refused medical attention at the scene.

Woodside
Thief steals during choir practice

Police are looking for a crook who
stole two bags from choir members at
a Woodside church.
According to police, at 8:55 p.m. on
April 19, 18-year-old female and a 23-
year-old female victim were singing
in the choir at Sure Foundation
Lutheran Church, located at 64-20
Roosevelt Ave., where they left their
bags unattended.
When they were finished, the
victims found that their bags, which
contained iPhones, wallets, credit
cards and miscellaneous items
totaling $2,320, had been stolen.
Cops described the thief a Hispanic
man with a beard who is in his 30s. He
was last seen wearing a dark hooded
winter jacket, red sweatshirt, dark
pants and a gray backpack.

Long Island City
Man sought for deli stabbing

Police need the public’s help in
finding a man they want to question
about a stabbing inside a Long
Island City grocery store on Friday
afternoon.
Law enforcement sources said the
attack occurred at 5:53 p.m. on May
3 inside the 21 Deli located at 40-35
21st St., across the street from the
Queensbridge Houses complex.
According to authorities, the
suspect displayed a knife and then
stabbed a 19-year-old man in the torso,
then fled from the scene. The motive
behind the attack remains unknown
at this time, sources familiar with the
investigation said.
Officers from the 114th Precinct and
EMS units responded to the incident.
Paramedics brought the victim to a
local hospital in stable condition.
On May 4, the NYPD released
a security camera image of a man
wanted for questioning with regard
to the assault. He’s described as a
black man in his early 20s with a light
complexion and a slim build.

Dad questioned after girl dies in car fire

A toddler died of her injuries on
Sunday night after she was found
trapped inside of a burning car parked
on a Springfield Gardens corner, law
enforcement sources reported.
The girl’s father, who was also
injured in the blaze, was taken into
custody for questioning, and police
have declared the case a homicide,
authorities said.
According to police, at 8:52 p.m. on
May 5, officers from the 113th Precinct
responded to a 911 call regarding
a vehicle on fire at 154th Street and
Baisley Boulevard. Upon their arrival,
cops and FDNY personnel found a 2008
Audi sedan on fire at the location.
Emergency personnel removed
3-year-old Zoey Pereira, of 130th
Avenue in Rochdale, from the car. EMS
rushed her to Jamaica Hospital, where
she ultimately died of her injuries. Her
body was transported to the Medical
Examiner’s office for an autopsy to
determine the cause of death.
A short distance away from the
scene, police found a 39-year-old man
who police say is the victim’s father.
He also sustained burns throughout
his body.
Cops took him into custody
transported him to Jamaica Hospital
in serious but stable condition. He’s
being questioned, but at this time, no
charges have been filed.
The investigation is ongoing.
