Cops cuffed a 50-year old man
who they say shoplifted at an Avenue
U clothing store on March 16.
The thief entered the store near
Flatbush Avenue shortly after 5
pm, before making off with an estimated
$2,202 in stolen merchandise,
said cops.
Police arrested the man shortly
after 7:45 pm later that evening and
charged him with grand larceny, according
to the report.
Defl ating robbery
Robbers stole all four tires off a
man’s car while parked overnight
on Avenue J on March 16.
The victim left his car between
E. 58th and E. 59th streets at 7:45 pm,
and returned at 8:45 am the next day
to discover the theft, said cops.
Purse snatcher
A thief stole a 70-year-old woman’s
purse in a Flatbush Avenue
shopping mall on March 13.
The victim was in a fi tting room
in a clothing store at the mall near
Avenue U when, shortly after 4 pm,
the perp made off with her bag,
which contained $1,100, several
pieces of jewelry, and her driver’s licence,
said police.
Fake arrest
Con artists scammed an 86-yearold
E. 32nd Street resident out of
$7,800 on March 1.
The victim told police he received
a call at his home from a
muffl ed voice that claimed to be his
grandson, who said, “I am arrested,
I need money. A lawyer will contact
you.” Another man later called the
victim claiming to be a lawyer who
said, “Your grandson is in the hospital,
you need to send money to bail
him out.” The victim then deposited
$7,800 into the so-called lawyer’s
bank account, said cops.
The victim eventually successfully
got in contact with his grandson,
who had not been arrested, and
knew nothing about the incident,
according to police.
Big spender
A huckster opened up a bank account
using an E. 61st Street resident’s
personal information and
charged more than $1,000 to it on
March 8.
The victim received a bill at
his home between Avenues T and
U from the banking company for
$1,164.10 for unknown charges. An
investigation showed that someone
had opened the account using the
57-year-old victim’s identity and
made the charges, said cops.

Copped to it
Police arrested a man who
they say beat his girlfriend on W.
28th Street on March 10 and then
punched a cop.
The man punched and kicked the
victim in the face before hitting her
with his belt, causing lacerations to
her nose, at her apartment between
Mermaid and Surf avenues shortly
before midnight, said cops.
Police arrived on the scene later
that night, and attempted to arrest
him, when he hit an offi cer in the
face, according to authorities. Offi -
cers used a Taser on the suspect and
arrested him for felony assault, cops
reported.
Cutting case
A bruiser stabbed a man at a Surf
Avenue bodega on March 11.
The victim was shopping at the
store between W. 29th and W. 30th
streets shortly after midnight when
the perp stabbed him in the back
with a sharp object, cops said.
The victim was treated for his injuries
and remained in stable condition,
according to police.
Brute force
Police arrested a man for allegedly
violently assaulting a 77-yearold
man on 27th Avenue on March
13.
The 48-year-old perp approached
the man between Harway Avenue
and Mill Road before punching and
kicking the victim in the face and
body, causing bruising and bleeding,
according to cops.
The victim was taken to Coney
Island hospital, said police.

Belt gone
A mugger robbed a 16-year-old
boy of his belt at an E. 16th Street
park on March 13.
The victim was in the green
space near Avenue S shortly after
3 pm when the perp pushed him
against the fence and demanded he
hand over the belt, said cops.
The goon took the belt and fl ed
down Avenue S toward E. 17th

Closed for business
A looter robbed a store owner of
$5,000 and several valuables on Nostrand
Avenue on March 16.
The victim had emptied the cash
register and took the items with
him as he left the shop in his car
around 2 am. The victim got out of
his car on Nostrand between Avenue
P and Quentin Road, when the
fi lcher approached him wielding a
black hunting knife.
The perp demanded the victim
lay on the ground as he stole three
bags containing the cash, several
bottles of perfume, and a number of
cellphones, cops said.
Kicked in the door
A burglar stole $1,000 and an estimated
$11,000 in jewelry from an
Avenue R apartment on March 13.
The victim left the apartment
near E. 17th Street shortly after
1:30 pm and returned at 7:45 pm to
fi nd the lock on the apartment door
smashed and the valuables missing
from the bedroom, cops said.
Hammer time
Looters kicked in the door of a
Coyle Street store and stole cash
and a hammer sometime overnight
on March 14.
The owner discovered the missing
items when he returned to his
store near Avenue U at 6 am on
March 15, according to cops.

Grabbed it and ran
A thief stole a woman’s debit
card from a Kings Highway cash
machine on March 17.
The theft occurred at the machine
inside a bodega near W. Fifth
Street at around 7:25 pm, police said,
adding that the woman was using
the machine to withdraw money.
What a tool
A burglar stole a man’s work
tools and wallet from his unlocked
truck parked in his Benson Avenue
driveway at some point between
March 11 and 12.
The theft occurred at the driveway
near 26th Avenue at some point
after 11:30 am on March 11, according
to the report, which added that
cameras captured the punk entering
the truck. The thief then swindled
the victim out of more than
$150 by using his credit card to buy
MetroCards, cops said.
Dastardly duo
A pair of punks stole a man’s
phone and wallet and made more
than $400 worth of purchases with
his debit card at a Shore Parkway
store on March 12.
The perps made the fraudulent
charges at the store between
24th Avenue and Bay 37th Street at
around 1:25 pm, according to the report,
which added that cameras at
the store captured the sneaks using
the plastic.
Blinged out
A lout stole jewelry from an 84th
Street home on March 14.
The theft occurred at the home
between 20th and 21st avenues at
some point after 10:30 am, according
to the report, which added that the
perp entered the residence through
a bathroom window.

Bottles up
Some fi end broke a glass bottle
over a man’s head inside a 61st
Street nightclub on March 12.
The victim told police he was arguing
with the brute inside the watering
hole between Seventh and
Eighth avenues at 5:30 am when the
guy snatched a bottle and shattered
it over his head.
The victim, who was highly intoxicated
by the time police arrived,
went to Lutheran Medical Center
for treatment, cops said.
Smashed
Police arrested a 32-year-old
woman for allegedly looting a man’s
car on 62nd Street on March 8, taking
credit cards and a navigation
system.
The victim told police he left his
2010 Toyota Sienna between Sixth
and Seventh avenues at 12:30 am,
and returned at around 11 am to fi nd
his driver-side window smashed
and his stuff stolen.
Cops cuffed their suspect later
that day, slapping her with a felony
larceny charge, according to police.
Low blow
Cops are searching for the lout
who beat and robbed a woman on
32nd Street on March 12, taking her
phone.
The victim told police she was arguing
with the creep near Third Avenue
at 8 pm when he slugged her in
the face and snatched her phone, before
slinking into a nearby car and
