Our transit system is
in full blown crisis.
We need congestion
pricing to help Brooklyn.
What are the benefits of congestion pricing?
Congestion pricing reduces traffic, cuts air pollution, and increases funding
for public transportation. The plan is to charge vehicles entering Manhattan
below 60th Street at certain times, and use the revenue for transit improvements
across NYC.
Here's what's at stake:
More reliable train service on the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, G, L, N, Q and R lines
180 subway stations fully ADA accessible with elevators,
including Bedford and Greenpoint Ave stations
New intercoms so customers can speak directly to transit employees
Up to 1.5 hours a week in time saved for express bus riders
More than 3,000 new subway cars on the tracks
