Purse snatched
A purse snatcher stole a woman’s
pocketbook outside of an Avenue U
shopping mall on April 30.
The jerk grabbed the bag from
the 61-year-old woman as she was
leaving the shopping center between
Flatbush Avenue and E. 55th Street
at 7 p.m., before fl eeing towards Avenue
T, cops said.
Identity theft
A fraudster charged $404 to a
department store using the stolen
identity of an E. 74th Street woman
on April 27.
The victim told cops she received
a bill in the mail at her house between
Avenues V and W on May 1.
She has not made the charges, and
immediately alerted authorities, according
to police.
Rental rouser
A thief used an E. 72nd Street
man’s stolen credit card to rent an
apartment using an online rental
service on April 28.
The victim, who lives between
Avenues L and M, was applying
for a loan on May 3, when the bank
alerted him to the unknown outstanding
charges of $1,346, cops
said.
The location of the ill-got rental
is not yet known.
Engaged
A fi lcher stole an engagement
ring from an E. 56th Street home
sometime between April 21 and
April 28.
The victim left the ring in a box
on the ground fl oor, while multiple
people had access to the home, between
Avenues J and K. The woman
realized the ring was missing on
April 29, and reported the theft
to police at 2:30 p.m., according to
cops.
Boat-jacker
A home invader stole an expensive
motorboat engine from a Flatbush
Avenue garage sometime between
December of 2018 and May 2,
when the homeowner was on vacation.
The perp broke the lock on the
garage door of the home between
Avenues S and T and made off with
the engine, cops said.

Smash and grab
Three baddies assaulted and
robbed a man on W. 11th Street on
April 30.
The victim told police the goons
pushed him off his bicycle, and repeatedly
punched and kicked him
while he was on the ground, between
Avenues V and W at approximately
3:40 p.m. The robbers then
stole a wallet and a backpack before
running off, cops said.
Slashers
Cops cuffed two women who they
say assaulted another woman on
Mermaid Avenue on May 1.
The suspects approached the victim
between W. 23rd and W. 24th
streets shortly after 1 a.m. and began
punching her, according to police.
One of the perps then used a
razor blade to cut the victim’s face,
cops said.
Police arrested the perps, who
were still in possession of the razor
blade, later that day, authorities
stated.
Home invasion
A home invader stole cash and a
video game console from a W. 25th
Street house on May 3.
The perp broke the front-door
lock and entered the home between
Mermaid and Surf avenues while
it was vacant, between noon and 4
p.m., and stole the items, according
to cops.
Unlucky winner
Con artists swindled an 86th
Street man out of $23,460 on April
15.
The perps called the 60-year-old
victim, who lives between W. Eighth
and W. Ninth streets, at around 7
p.m. ,and told him he had won a $4.5
million lottery, and he needed to
send them a deposit in order to collect
his winnings, according to the
report. The victim sent two checks
before he realized the scam, cops
said.
Online bank fraud
A charlatan stole $5,000 from
a Brighton 14th Street woman on
April 3.
The fraudster called the victim,
who lives between Ocean View and
Brighton Beach avenues, shortly after
11 a.m., and informed her that
her social security number was being
used in a money laundering
scheme, police reported. The perp
told the victim to deposit any money
she had into a virtual currency
bank account, and send the account
details for safe keeping, according

to the report.
The victim deposited $5,000, and
sent the account information to the
perp, who stole the money, cops
said.

SHEEPSHEAD BAY—HOMECREST—

Bottle fi ght
Cops cuffed a man who they say
robbed an Avenue U liquor store
and assaulted a store employee on
April 30.
Police say the suspect entered
the store between Ocean Parkway
and E. Seventh Street at 4 p.m. before
going behind the counter, grabbing
a bottle, and running off. The
store employee chased the man outside
of the store, before the suspect
hit the employee in the head with
the bottle and fl ed toward Avenue T,
cops said.
Cops tracked down the suspect a
half hour later on the corner of Avenue
X and E. Seventh Street, authorities
reported.
Knock down
Two muggers violently robbed a
man on Avenue X on May 2.
The two perps approached the
victim on the corner of E. 22nd
street shortly after midnight, when
one of the baddies punched the victim
in the face while other perp then
began kicking the victim, cops reported.
The two men then grabbed
the victim’s wallet before making
off toward E. 21st Street, according

Phone scam
A scammer swindled a Bay Parkway
woman out of more than $1,500
over the phone on April 29 by pretending
to be with the Social Security
Administration and local police
force.
The woman, who lives at Cropsey
Avenue, told police that the perp
called her at around 1 p.m. and
asked her to send the money, which
she did via Google Play gift cards.
Car jack gone wrong
Police arrested a man who allegedly
tried to steal a woman’s car on
Kings Highway on April 30.
The alleged attempted theft occurred
between W. Sixth and W. Seventh
streets at around 3:45 p.m., police
said. The man allegedly leaned
over the woman in the driver’s seat
and grabbed her keys and the steering
wheel before telling her “give
me your car, I want your car,” according
to the report, which added
that the man allegedly fl ed when the
woman began to scream and cry.
Cash grab
A thief stole $580 and a laptop
from a woman in the lobby of a Bay
Parkway building on April 30.
The theft occurred at the building
at 84th Street at around 4:10
p.m., police said.
Stroller swipe
A pilferer stole $160 and a woman’s
credit and insurance cards
from her wallet that she left on top
of a baby stroller while shopping at
an 86th Street store on May 1.
The theft occurred at the store at
Bay 19th Street at around 12:15 p.m.,
according to the report.
Evening smoke
A lout broke into a 71st Street
shed and stole a copper pipe on May
3.
The break-in and burglary occurred
on the block between 21st Avenue
and Bay Parkway at around 6
p.m., according to the report, which
added that the crook broke the lock
on the shed in order to gain entry.
Purse snatcher
A crook stole a woman’s purse
with $1,300 and her identifi cation
card inside from an 86th Street restaurant
on May 4.
The theft occurred form the eatery
at 24th Avenue at around 1 p.m.,
police said.

Connect four
Cops are hunting the four fi ends
who they say beat and robbed a man
on 57th Street on April 30, taking
his phone and $210.
The victim told police the crooks
attacked him between Third and
Fourth avenues at 6 am, swinging
at him with a glass bottle, and pummeling
him with a fl urry of blows,
before reaching into his pockets
and nabbing his valuables.

Some jerk rode off with a man’s
E-bike he parked on Prospect Park
Southwest on April 30.
The victim told police he left his
bike between 10th and 11th avenues
at 6:30 pm, and returned a half-hour
later to fi nd his pricey ride stolen.
