Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. announces 8th Annual Savor the Bronx Restaurant
Week.
Savor the Bronx on BronxNet
Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.
kicked off the borough’s 8th Annual
Savor the Bronx Restaurant Week on
January 7, with a press conference,
launching more than a week of savory
events, discounts and special prix fi xe
menus at top Bronx restaurants.
The Bronx Tourism Council organizes
Savor the Bronx Restaurant
Week. The press conference is featured
on BronxNet, along with a special
Savor the Bronx program that
takes viewers on a culinary tour of a
wide range of Bronx restaurants.
The Savor the Bronx program block
is being broadcast on BronxNet regularly
throughout Restaurant Week, on
Friday, January 11 at 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.;
Saturday, January 12 at 1 p.m.; Sunday,
January 13 at 3 p.m.; Monday, January
14 at 8:30 p.m.; Tuesday, January
15 at 7:30 p.m.; Wednesday, January 16
at 9:30 p.m.; Thursday, January 17 at 7
p.m.; Friday, January 18 at 8:30 p.m.;
and Saturday, January 19 at 6 p.m., on
BronxNet 67-Optimum and 33-Fios,
and at www.bronxnet.tv.
Among the many featured eateries
and food producers are Mott Haven
Bar & Grill, Bronx Draft House,
Gun Hill Brewing Company, Mexican
restaurant Xochimilco, Italian restaurant
Emilia’s, and hip-hop-themed restaurant
Beatstro, where the Savor the
Bronx press conference took place.
“During this time of year restaurants
usually experience a post-hol-
iday slump in business so we are encouraging
everyone to get out and
patronize these wonderful eateries
by offering our great Savor the Bronx
deals. This year’s list of vendors includes
a diverse selection of cuisines
and neighborhoods, from Italian restaurants
on Arthur Avenue to City Island
seafood and a Vietnamese spot on
Jerome. I’ve already spotted a couple
of my old favorites on this list, along
with a few that I can’t wait to visit for
the fi rst time,” said Diaz. “Thank you
to BronxNet for supporting this ongoing
initiative with the programming
on your channel.”
The BronxNet program features
restaurant highlights and interviews
with Bronx leaders and restaurateurs.
“BronxNet is proud to partner
with Borough President Ruben Diaz,
Jr. and the Bronx Tourism Council to
highlight the borough’s exquisite dining
treasures, and thereby encourage
Bronxites and visitors to taste the array
of treats the Bronx has to offer,”
said BronxNet executive director Michael
Max Knobbe.
