Off Broadway play, ‘Checklist’ coming to Lehman
The new, entertaining, and sold-out
off-Broadway play Checklist is all the
rage among young ethnic millennial
couples, families, and friends. Checklist
stars social media comedian/actor
Mr. Commodore, siblings Khalid and
Tyler Burgos and Katherine Nunez.
Written and directed by Waled ‘Wali
World’ Burgos, this production showcases
a Bronx family’s impressive skill
for storytelling; also, it provides a platform
for emerging local talent. The relatable
narrative explores an array of
different relationships within friends,
family, and love.
Every woman’s dream is to settle
down and get married to ‘Mr. Right’
and that’s just what star of the show
Jessica is being pressured to do by her
loved ones. But Jessica has a pretty
lengthy ‘checklist,’ and she wants all
her boxes checked off. That is until
she meets co-star Dexter.
Since its big curtain debut in February
of 2016, the show has had seven
consecutive organically sold-out
shows. Each show has been attended
by top industry executives and leaves
the crowd amazed by the astonishing
talent of the actors and relatable storyline.
The excitement around the production
has garnered the attention of notable

Irish Concert at Empire City Casino
The luck of the Irish comes alive
at Empire City Casino for the fi fth
annual Irish Concert on Sunday,
March 3 at 2 p.m. Featuring the exceedingly
popular New York Citybased
Irish-American bands, Shilelagh
Law and, Celtic Cross, the
lively Celtic sounds will serve as
the kick-off to tristate St. Patrick’s
Day celebrations. The Pipes and
Drums of the Police Emerald Society
of Westchester, comprised of police
offi cers from a majority of the
39 Police Departments within the
County of Westchester, also return
to perform for their local fans.
Shilelagh Law, known to interpret
traditional Irish music through
a fi lter of ‘urban grittiness,’ helps
defi ne the Irish-American experience
that is a key part of the overall
fabric of New York. Their fan base
is widespread and one of the most
loyal in the music industry.
Celtic Cross, founded just south
of Empire City Casino in the Bronx
in 1990, has been making and breaking
Irish music traditions all over
the world. The music of the sevenpiece
band blends a combination of
traditional, sassy pop, alt-country
and funk, playing music to share a
great story through song.

City Casino for the fi fth annual
Irish concert, which has become
such an incredible tradition
leading up to St. Patrick’s Day,”
said Kathleen Fee, lead singer/
song-writer for Celtic Cross. “It is
always a fun time and a great way
to celebrate with friends and fans

held on the casino’s 4th fl oor. Food
