Hello readers and welcome
to another edition of
Around Town!
Fourth Grade CYO-NYC
Basketball Champs
St. Barnabas School, an
elementary school in Woodlawn,
is looking to have its
fourth grade basketball team
repeat the success it had last
year, when the team’s young
ladies won their fi rst Catholic
Youth Organization New
York City championship (in
their category) in school history,
coach Christopher
Toro tells the Bronx Times.
The support and love we
received from the community
was an overwhelming experience
for our young ladies.
This year our girls came
back on a mission to repeat as
NYC Champs and ended the
regular season undefeated at
19-0.
The coach said the team
won a qualifi er that took
place at a tournament at Our
Lady of Mount Carmel Grammar
School, and will advance
again.
Congratulations to the
team and we look forward to
following your progress.
