As part of BronxWorks’ March Madness event, local middle school students participated in
BronxWorks’ Shop Healthy Youth Program on Saturday, March 23 as part of the Healthy and
Livable Mott haven Partnership at the Betances Community Center.

BRONX FACES II OPENING RECEPTION
An opening reception was held in honor of ‘Bronx Faces II: A Solo Exhibition by Annie Legnini’
on Saturday, March 23 at the Belmont Library. The Morris Park artist created this series
by taking photo submissions from people all across the borough and transforming their
portraits into lifelike mixed media masterpieces using everyday materials. The exhibition
documenting the Bronx experience through culture, race and class will be on display until
Saturday, April 20.

Community Education Council District 8 Community Superintendent Dr. Erika Tobia hosted
The Kindness Awards on Wednesday, March 20 at P.S. 48. The event featured 37 schools
located in District 8 which represent the areas of Throggs Neck, Pelham Bay, Country, Morrisania,
Unionport, Clason Point, Soundview, Hunts Point and Longwood.
