Seven Injured In Pelham Bay Apartment Blaze
Seven people are recovering from an early Sunday morning fi re in Pelham Bay. According to the FDNY, the fi re started around 3:45 a.m.
on Sunday, April 21 on the fi rst fl oor of a 4-story apartment house at 1580 Edison Avenue. Over 100 fi refi ghters responded to the blaze
which took them approximately two hours to get under control. Three civilians with minor injuries, one with life-threatening injuries and
three fi refi ghters with non-life threatening injuries, received medical attention. Two dogs perished in the blaze. According to the American
Red Cross, approximately 50 people were displaced and others are waiting for the NYC Department of Buildings to inform them if

they’ll be able to return. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
