ST. HELENA HOSTS EAGLE SCOUT COURT OF HONOR
St. Helena Boy Scout Troop 65 held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Wednesday, May 8 to
honor the troop’s 59th, Orlando Palapa and 60th, Ian Pichardo eagle scouts. Six other eagle
scouts were also present for the ceremony in addition to Community Board 9 district manager
William Rivera, who was himself a former member of the Troop.

CO-OP CITY SCHOOLS RECEIVE NEW PLAYGROUND
Students on the campus of P.S. 160, P.S. 168 and Equality Charter School jumped with joy on
Wednesday, May 8 for a ribbon-cutting ceremony of their new playground. The swings and
slides beckoned the youth as well as the race track, basketball court, jump zone, climbing wall
and shiny colorful play structures, all funded Councilman Andy King.

RIVERA NAMES LINDA KEMP WOMAN OF DISTINCTION
On Tuesday, May 7, Senator Gustavo Rivera honored Linda Kemp at the NYS Senate’s 21st annual
Women of Distinction Celebration.
Senator Rivera thanked Kemp for her many decades of community service.
