St. Raymond Hall of
Fame Induction Ceremony
Varsity basketball head
coach Jorge Lopez proudly
inducted Peter Mulligan,
Class of 2000 alumnus,
into the St. Raymond High
School for Boys Hall of Fame
on Sunday, January 6 during
the school’s Homecoming
celebration.
During his time at St.
Raymond, Peter was named
NYS Mr. Basketball (2000),
High School Player of the
Year (2000) and led his alma
mater to both a number eight
national ranking in USA Today’s
High School national
poll and third CHSAA NYC
Championship title.
After high school, Peter
played at the University of
Maryland Baltimore from
2000 to 2002 and transferred
to Manhattan College where
he played from 2003 to 2005.
During his college career,
he earned many more accolades
including being named
the Northeast Conference’s
Rookie of the Year.
Following college, Peter
continued with a prolific professional
career from 2006 to
2011 abroad playing in countries
such as Portugal, the
Czech Republic, France, Amsterdam,
Finland, Hungary
and Mexico.
At his retirement from
the professional level, Peter
returned to the states and
pursued a career in education.
He currently teaches
health and serves as a JV
basektball coach at Urban
Dover Team Charter School
in Brooklyn.
Prior to the game, Peter
addressed the St. Raymond
varsity team in the locker
room.
“Leave it all out on the
court,” he said to the players.
“Play smart and with
your hearts.”
