THE THROGGS NECK BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION PRESENTS
21ST ANNUAL THROGGS NECK
ST. PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
And the Religious Honoree - Sr. Teresa Barton, CND.
Peggy McKeegan has been a very active member of the St. Frances de Chantal parish for many years, and she worked to help the people of the community throughout her
career at the New York State Senator’s office and while working on various local community groups to help enrich the neighborhood. She was an early member of the Throggs
Neck St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee and has worked with the Throggs Neck Community Action Partnership (TNCAP) under the auspices of the Archdiocese of New York
Drug Abuse Prevention Program (aDaPP).
In his political career, Joe Crowley has been described as a “stalwart supporter of all things Irish.” From working to include the Great Irish Famine in the NY State school
curriculum, to his more recent Irish political work on such things as the peace process and Brexit, he has worked tirelessly on issues that resonate with the Irish community. As
our Congressman, Joe always supported this St. Patrick’s Day Parade and he was instrumental in passing the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act
Sr. Teresa Barton has been the Principal of the Villa Maria Academy in the Bronx since 1997 and the community and the children have flourished under her leadership,
dedication to the mission, and love for the students and faculty.
