The Preston High School Gaelic Society hosted a
ceili for students, their families and the Throggs
Neck community on Monday, March 5. The event
featured music, food, raffl es, games and a performance
by the Inishfree School of Irish Dance.

TRIBORO CENTER BECOMES THE
‘BIG EASY’ FOR MARDI GRAS
Triboro Center residents and staff were treated with a Bourbon
Street, ‘Nawlins-styled Mardi Gras celebration on Tuesday,
March 5. Residents enjoyed some Cajun food and were entertained
by a belly dancer who made her way to every table.
St. Barnabas Hospital and the NYS Department of Health launched the NYC eWIC on Friday, March 15 which will serve as a more
convenient and practival way for families in the statewide WIC program here to shop for healthy and nutritional food for their
families. The new system will allow a number of benefi ts to the thousands of Bronx area clients who depend on WIC to feed their
families foods that are healthy and nutritious.

The Soundview Community Drug Free Coalition held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 12 at Soundview/Phipps Community
Center. The meeting featured a presentation by Jamaal King discussing vaping and fl avored tobacco products.
